Phuket has a tropical climate with two seasons, a wet and a dry monsoon climate. The temperature does not differ that much between the two. (Compared to central and northern Thailand with three seasons and greater temperature differences.)

:: High Season

The best time to visit Phuket is during "High Season" when it is not so humid, November to March. The average temperature is around 24ºC to 32ºC

:: Low Season

In Phuket it rains the most in May and September/October. Remember that travelling during rain season (or "Low Season") is generally not bad, after a short period of heavy rain the sun will shine for the most part of the day. If you want to swim or dive you may avoid Phuket during June-August, there are often redflag on the beach which means it is dangerous undercurrents which make it unsafe to swim.
